It is also that time of year to invite you once again to join families, friends, and colleagues at our annual Partners In Care Conference Quality of Life Matters, on December 6th in Killington, Vermont. Our lives are often described as a journey. We invite you to take a break from your travels - the day-to-day traffic, merging lanes and narrow roads - and view the landscape. Our Partners in Care Conference can be your "scenic overlook". Ann Turnbull, Director of the Beach Center on Disability in Kansas will give the keynote address: "Conditioning" for the Quality of Life Marathon - a brief excerpt of her story is on the next two pages with the complete article available on our website. Among our other guest presenters are Dr. Patrick McGrath and Katie Beckett. Dr. McGrath is an internationally recognized expert on pediatric pain management (See News and Note for another opportunity to listen to Dr. McGrath on December 5th). Katie Beckett will join a panel of exemplary youth in our area in the General Session: Youth in Transition: What Works and What Doesn't? where they will share experiences and ideas about self-advocacy. Our entire conference brochure is on our website: click
And what
would be better on this road trip than an overnight or two at one of Vermont's
finest inns! We are underway with our current fundraiser: the Vermont
Inns Raffle. We are very impressed with the generosity of the participating
inns and also those companies who donated incentive prizes for those who
sell the most tickets. Please see the list and call us if you would
like to sell tickets. We will announce winners at our Conference.
Finally,
I want to thank those of you who so generously support the work of Parent
to Parent and invite others to participate in our Annual Appeal.
Your donation will allow us to continue to work with all of you to advocate
for policies and practices and provide the support needed to ensure that
we all experience quality of life. ©
Your
contribution to our Annual Appeal goes to support programs of Parent to
Parent of Vermont including Family Support, Family Faculty Institute, Family
Infant & Toddler Project of Chittenden County, Family Voices of Vermont,
and outreach.
