Demeritt Family Story Update

5 years ago I was sent a gift filled with love and a message. The gift was my son Christopher who has Angelman Syndrome. He is very special and has changed my life completely. He has taught me about myself. I have learned that even though there are many things that are challenging about living with a special needs person, there are more rewards than I could ever imagine. Because of my son, I have come to realize what I really love to do in life. I love to care for people and especially love to be with special people, so I have made it my career. I became a nurse, LPN, and currently work with a little girl with a disability in her home, taking her to school and aqua-therapy. I have often wished that I could provide respite and/or nursing in my own home. My dream includes a beautiful home that will be set up to stimulate and promote success in the lives of people with special challenges, and that others caring for special people could visit my home so that we are able to motivate and support one another while supporting our clients (professional term) / friends (my preferred description). I am very excited to announce that I now have such a home in South Burlington and I need to find people who would benefit from this supportive environment.  If interested, contact Kathleen Demeritt at (802) 862-9587 or kathydemo@AOL.com   ©
