"SibShop is cool"

The word is out: Sibshops are cool!

Group juggling, parachute games, Dear Aunt Blabby, bobbing for apples, telephone line-up, sightless sculptures and drop the egg - just a few of the games featured at our most recent Sibshop. Don't know what sightless sculptures are? Picture a human blob of clay. Your task is to form that blob of clay into a sculpture replicating the pose of your model - all while blindfolded.  Think that doesn't sound tough?  Imagine what happens when your model is a champion Twister player!

Sibshops offer siblings of children with special needs the opportunity to get together, have some fun, talk, and connect with one another.  Some of the games are pure fun. Others, like Dear Aunt Blabby, deal with the challenges children experience when they are the brother or sister of a child with special needs. Dear Aunt Blabby is a fictional advice columnist who needs help answering her letters. Sibshop participants advise her correspondents on how to deal with being upset when their sibling interrupts their homework time, or what to do when they feel embarrassed by their sibling's public tantrums.  Letters to Dear Aunt Blabby are signed, "Look at me too!", "Only sort of a sister", and "Worried".
Sibshop participants enjoy lots of different activities, make a fun lunch and, most importantly, have the chance to connect with other children who understand what it's like to have a sibling with a special need.  We also offer tips for parents.  Sign up now to join us for the next Sibshop in your area.

Oh, and there's ice cream too!
