Author Linda Coss generously donated a copy of her book, "How to Manage Your Child's Life-Threatening Food Allergies: Practical Tips for Everyday Life," to the Parent to Parent of Vermont resource library.
This comprehensive reference manual provides detailed advice on managing a child's life-threatening food allergies. Topics covered include preparing for and treating allergic reactions, purchasing and cooking food, making the home a "safe haven," parenting issues, creating a safe school environment, having a social life, dining in restaurants, traveling and more. Information is presented in easy-to-read "short tips" format.  Numerous checklists, sample forms, and real-life examples area included.  This book is especially useful for those whose children were recently diagnosed.
