Ruth Walker Hamilton,
PhD
Ruth is a licensed
clinical psychologist with more than 25 years experience providing
assessment, consultation, training, direct service and technical
assistance for children with emotional, behavioral or developmental
disabilities and their families. Dr. Hamilton has been the clinical
psychologist, behavioral
consultant and affiliate for the State I-Team, working extensively with
individuals and their families, schools, mental health, and social
services. She serves on Vermont's Human Rights Committee through
the Department of Developmental and Mental Health Services and is the
Director of the Emotional and Behavioral Concentration in Special
Education at the University of Vermont. In addition, Dr. Hamilton
is the co-coordinator of the BEST team (Building Effective Strategies
for Teaching Students With Emotional and Behavioral Challenges) through
VermontÕs Department of Education. She has worked at the Center
on Disability and Community Inclusion since 1981 primarily as the
coordinator or director and author of several federally funded grants
through the U.S. Office of Special Education.
Ruth lives in Moscow,
VT, with her husband Tom and beloved chocolate lab Bruin. She is the
mother of two daughters: one living in Bergen, Norway, and the other
living in Chatham, NJ. For almost fifteen years Ruth has been the legal
guardian to a young woman who experiences emotional and behavioral
challenges and a mild cognitive disability. Perhaps her favorite role
is that of grandmother to five grandsons and one granddaughter.

Danielle Viau
Danielle
Viau lives in Underhill. She attended Champlain Valley Union High
School and Trinity College.
Danielle
is an active community volunteer. In addition to her service on
the Parent to Parent of Vermont Board, she works at St. Michael's
College in the Education Department.
Danielle
enjoys bowling, visiting friends over lunch, reading and bike
riding.
When
asked why she agreed to serve on the Parent to Parent of Vermont Board,
Danielle said, "I want to work for Parent to Parent because I like to
help people. I can help by listening and giving helpful
suggestions that would benefit the different families from Parent to
Parent."
