From Our Director |
After years of careful planning and work, we are fast approaching the unveiling of Vermont’s newest family support and advocacy organization– Vermont Family Network. We often hear from families about the challenges of transitions, now it is our turn to experience one of the most significant transitions in the life of a non-profit!
July 1, 2008, is the scheduled launch of the newly merged Vermont Family Network, a combined force of Parent to Parent of Vermont and the Vermont Parent Information Center. This means a change in our email addresses, website, listserv and potentially mailing address. © www.vermontfamilynetwork.org is the new website address. It is not up and running at this point but is under construction. We hope to have more information available on the site starting July 1, so bookmark it and check it often. © Our email addresses will change to: firstname.lastname@vtfn.org. © Our listserv name will change to VermontFamilyNetwork@yahoogroups.com. This should not affect existing listserv members. © However, you can still contact us using the Parent to Parent of Vermont or Vermont Parent Information Center telephone numbers and, for a while, our old email addresses will be forwarded. The Executive Director Search Committee is working hard to recruit and hire a dynamic leader to bring this new organization into being. We are creating a new logo and look, and will be rearranging our office space, although we will still be in the Kidder Newhouse Building at 600 Blair Park in Williston. All of these exciting transitions do come with some bittersweet changes. This is the last edition of The Heart of It Newsletter. Although we are sure to be publishing a newsletter, we do not know at this point what it will be named, how it will look, or what it will feature. But through all of these changes, one thing remains: the phenomenal staff of Parent to Parent of Vermont and the Family, Infant and Toddler Program of Chittenden County will remain ready to provide information, resources and support to any family in need of our services. And so, I thank the staff, Board, parents and partners of Parent to Parent of Vermont from the bottom of my heart. This is an incredible community to be
welcomed into and I know the new Executive Director will feel the warmth and support of you all. On a final note, it would be impossible to wrap up the final edition of The Heart of It without honoring Nancy DiVenere, who created this organization, nurtured it through good times and bad, and left a little of her soul with us. Thank you. © |
