Make a Wish
Make-A-Wish Foundation® Mission Statement
“We grant the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions
to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.”

As the largest wish granting charity in the world, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 years old who are living with a life-threatening medical condition. Wishes are not just for children with a terminal illness, instead wishes are thought of as part of the treatment protocol; another resource to help them endure the struggles with their health and just be a kid. We rely on medical professionals – doctors, nurses, social workers, – people just like you, to refer children for a wish. Out of respect for wish families, we never solicit wish referrals.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Vermont has granted over 310 wishes throughout the State since the chapter began in 1989.  Some of our wishes over the last year have been: a wish to skate with the Colorado Avalanche, a bedroom makeover, a backyard playhouse, a laptop computer, several meet & greets with celebrities and sports stars, a horse, family trips to Walt Disney World Resort, a family trip to Hawaii, and a wheelchair lift for the family van.
